Why I Became a Pomeranian Breeder

I knew Pomeranians were the breed for me because of their happy, enthusiastic, hardy attitudes and small size. I became fascinated by the black poms thirty-eight years ago. My horse breeding days taught me how to raise quality in the uncommon colors in a short period of time so when I saw poor quality in the "uncommon" colors, I knew I had to be a Pomeranian color breeder.

My first color was black. My first black champion, Ch. Finch's He Walks On Water (Travis), became the "winningest" black pom in the history of the breed with 9 All-Breed Best In Shows, 3 Best In Specialty Shows, and the first black Pom to win his breed at Westminster ('94). He is Registry Of Merit Excellent and has produced a son, BISS CH Valcopy-Wakham Valentino, and daughter, BISS CH Valcopy Wakham Hot Gossip, who have won All Breed Best In Shows. His grandson, Ch. Valcopy-Wakham Batman, is a third generation BIS winner.

I'm currently working to promote black and tans and partis to those heights!

My foundation sires are:

Ch. Finch's Wee Heart Andy Gibb  produced Ch. Finch's Raydeeo Dee Jay.

Ch. Tim Sue's Moon Rocket ROM produced six Finch's champions:

  • Ch. Finch's Rocket To The Moon
  • Ch. Finch's A Noble Tradition
  • Ch. Finch's I Still Believe in U
  • Ch. Finch's Bodacious Ten
  • Ch. Finch's Exquisitely Obvious
  • Ch. Finch's Just to Impress
sire of Ch. Finch's Fabulous Babe
Ch. Apolloette Wild Fire produced Ch. Finch's One For The Record and she produced Ch. Finch's Passionate Kisses who was the No. 6 top winning APC dog in '95 (also a black).

One of my bitches (Finch's Magically Impressed) is also a Register of Merit producer and was the APC's top producing bitch for '94. Travis was APC's Top Winning Dog in '92; the same year I was APC's Breeder Of The Year.
